Our Background

This isn’t about me but I always love to share my journey because it shows you who I am. It helps you to understand that I have been where you are now and that it is possible to move forward into the lifestyle that you want. The one that will make the happiest and healthiest version of you.

I started on my own fitness journey in 2016 after the birth of my second child. I had put on some weight during my pregnancy and when my daughter was around 4 months old I was feeling pretty awful. I didn’t have a great relationship with food or with myself. I hated what I saw in the mirror and my self esteem was at an all time low. I focused solely on scale weight and had spent years following any fad diet that came along. I was stuck in a binge and restrict cycle for years. One day, I decided it was time to start. So I did. I had 2 small children at home so I was exhausted and time was limited. I started with 30 mins a day. Just moving. I worked out solely at home with minimal equipment. After a few workouts, I gave up! I had to restart twice over before I stuck to it long term! From then on, I never looked back! I took days off, I had great workouts, interrupted workouts and workouts that I barely dragged myself through. It was tough! BUT i never 1 gave up again! I showed up, as often as I could manage and I kept on working. I took progress pictures, I became part of an online community who spurred me on when I fell and celebrated every small victory. I THREW out my scales!!!!


Over time my goals changed. I didn’t want to be skinny anymore, I wanted to be strong. So I started to lift weights. I didn’t know much about it, but I worked hard. I consistently showed up. Until one day I realised how far I had come. It was at this point I realised it had become my passion to help other women who were feeling like me in 2016. I wanted to learn more and share my knowledge, so I could help others who felt the same as I had. I learnt a lot in my spare time, from other fitness professionals and from those around me who were going through their own journey. Everybody had their own experiences and stories to share, all of which inspired me and helped me to learn. I decided to get my Personal Trainer qualification so that I could become more knowledgeable about the human body and the best ways in which to help improve our speed, strength, stamina and overall health and wellbeing.


But lurking underneath the leaner, stronger body I was hiding an eating disorder. One that crept up on me but once I faced it head on, I realised it had been there for over 20 years. I was determined to work through the diet culture that had led me to this dark place and vowed to always help promote healthy relationships with food and normal bodies over fad diets and calorie counting.


So my coaching style is unique. Because I have been there. Because I understand and because I am flexible. I won't make you count calories (unless you want to and it comes from a healthy place) and will teach you about intuitive eating. I will listen and support when you feel uncomfortable in your skin and give you the tools to help you work through this. We will work together to get you to understand (and maybe even love!) your body and all it does for you from breathing to lifting weights! It isn’t about comparing yourself to others, lifting the heaviest weights, working out for long hours or restricting your food intake or your life. It is about making it work for YOU. Becoming the best version of you that you can possibly be. About finding a balance for health and wellness to integrate into your current lifestyle and keeping hold of all the things you love. It’s about evolving and finding peace with who you are and learning a little self love.
